Snow Fall: online journalistiek van de bovenste plank

In The horrors of an avalanche (and the beauty of really amazing online journalism) attendeert BoingBoing op een artikel van John Branch in the New York Times, Snow Fall: The Avalanche at Tunnel Creek met de aanbeveling:

The article, by itself, is a must-read. But you should also take a look at the absolutely fantastic way that Branch and his editors put the online medium to good use — embedding interactive maps, photos that move like something out of Harry Potter, and more standard videos into a lovely, fluid design.

Dat maakte me nieuwsgierig. Niet naar het verhaal zelf, maar wel naar de online presentatie ervan. Ik werd niet teleurgesteld. Het artikel is inderdaad schitterend vormgegeven. Verrijkt met multimedia en desondanks rustig, misschien zelfs wel sober. Neem een kijkje en oordeel zelf: zo wil iedereen een goed verhaal toch wel brengen?
