Niet voor winst maar uit passie: remix de media met Open Source Cinema

Lawrence Lessig is hier al vaker voorbij gekomen. Hij is een van de bedenkers van Creative Commons, een concept waar ik helemaal achter sta.
Op YouTube vind je genoeg filmpjes over Lessig maar bovenstaande vond ik bijzonder fraai. Het filmpje is afkomstig van het spannende project Open Source Cinema -Remix the media-
Op de website staat een interessant manifest, en vind je nog meer leuke filmpjes (in Quicktime-formaat), zoals ‘History of the mashups‘.

Yes, Copyright in some sense is necessary. It is an incentive to create, to encourage “the progress of science and useful arts” . But when it is the life of the author, plus 75 years? That’s a theft of our collective heritage

Copyright is theft? Doet me denken aan the Kopyright Liberation Front (of staat KLF toch voor Kings of the Low Frequency)?

Goed hier na jouw nieuwe bericht ‘Wij‘ terecht te komen. ‘Creative Commons‘ boeien me al een hele tijd ! En ik vind copyrights, patenten, octrooien en dergelijke tot op zekere hoogte inderdaad diefstal van ons allemaal. En wat mij betreft ook een onnodige rem op de ontwikkeling van onze menselijke en materiële cultuur!!
